1. Who you are contracting with
These Terms of Service are a legal agreement between you and Welcome to Charleston. By using the website, mobile app, or any related services, you agree to these terms. If you are using the service on behalf of a business, you confirm that you have authority to bind that business.
2. Acceptance
By accessing or using Welcome to Charleston, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
3. What we provide
Welcome to Charleston provides a local directory, neighborhood guide, beach guide, restaurant and shopping recommendations, and optional paid products such as a premium relocation guide and lead-credit packages for local businesses. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.
4. Payments and subscriptions
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. 5. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service. This includes, but is not limited to: unlawful use, fraud or spam, infringement of intellectual property rights, interfering with the security of the service, scraping, hacking, or attempting to reverse-engineer any part of the platform.
6. Intellectual property
Welcome to Charleston owns all rights to the service, including its design, code, branding, content, and documentation. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your personal or business use according to these Terms.
7. Business listings
Business listings are reviewed before publication. We reserve the right to reject, edit, or remove any listing that is inaccurate, misleading, illegal, or violates these Terms. A listing does not imply endorsement.
8. Service level
We aim to keep the service available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. Information such as hours, addresses, and prices is provided by businesses and third parties and may change.
9. Termination and suspension
We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach, non-payment, fraud, security risk, or repeated violations of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the service ends immediately.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Welcome to Charleston's liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the six months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages, including lost profits or data loss.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts located in Charleston County, South Carolina.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the latest version on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
